Fundraising is an important part of every scouting group. Let’s
face it, it costs money to run programs, camps, buy badges, equipment,
craft supplies, uniforms, etc. and do all of the other fun stuff that
we’ve come to expect in Scouting. We have been fortunate to be
well supported by our sponsor the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch #119 who endorse and support our fundraising activities.
Our Funds come from...

Bottle Drives
Our main source of income comes from our bottle drives. We typically
hold four bottle drives a year — every three months. Our bottle
drives are held on Sunday's in October, January, April and June.
The money raised is used to subsidize camp fees, buy new equipment,
craft supplies, badges, uniforms, etc. The generous support of our
bottle drives from the people in the community we serve has allowed us
to run our Scouting program now for over 10 years.
Parents as well as registered youth are expected to attend and
participate in the bottle drives. In order to receive credit for
attending, and for your fund raising deposit to be destroyed you
MUST sign in at each and every bottle drive that you attend.
A few days before each bottle drive, we deliver flyers to all the
homes in our community to let people know when we will be around to
pick up any refundable bottles or drink containers. When you receive
the notice we ask you to please prepare any refundable bottles or
drink containers that you wish to donate and have them ready for pick
up.
Can’t drive a route? — People are needed to
sort bottles, help with cooking, distribution of maps, cleaning of
the area...there’s LOTS you can do to help out.
Coming late is better than not coming at all, and staying to the end
to help sort and load is greatly appreciated. If everyone does their
part the bottle drive will finish quickly.
