Upcoming Pack Events / Activities That Will Meet Requirements in the Bear Book:

  • June Day Camp: Elective # 25f - Attend Day Camp
  • June Dad & Lad: Elective # 25g - Attend Resident Camp
  • October Campout:
    • # 3f - Participate in a Color Guard at a Pack Meeting
    • # 3h - Learn to Raise & Lower the Flag for an Outdoor Ceremony
    • # 3i - Participate in an Outdoor Flag Ceremony
    • # 12a - Go camping with your family
    • # 12b - Go on a hike with your family
    • # 12c - Have a picnic with your family
    • Elective # 25c - Participate with Den at a Campfire
    • Elective #  25d - Go on a Pack overnight campout
  • November Popcorn Sales: Elective # 21a - Take part in a Pack money-raising project.
  • January Pine Wood Derby: # 21f - Make a model of a car.
  • ** Cancelled ** March's Clean Stream Day: # 6g - Take part in a Den or Pack neighborhood clean-up project.
  • Each family should sign up to host one of the Den Meetings & plan the activity:  Achievement # 24c - Plan and conduct a Den Activity with the approval of your Den Leader.
      
 
Den 6 Outdoor Classroom Stations:

Lecture Area: 

  1. Replace seat boards as needed (at least two will need replacing). 

  2. Anchor seat boards down (concrete anchors or concrete nails). [complete, except for the boards that will be replaced]
  3. Stain seat boards & lecture stand (outdoor deck stain). 
  4. Apply grass/weed killer to remove grass & weeds from lecture area. [complete]
  5. Replace landscape timbers around lecture area as needed. 
  6. Anchor landscape timbers around lecture area as needed.

Animal Track Pad: 

  1. Clean concrete pad with patio/deck cleaner. 

  2. Stain concrete pad with concrete stain.
  3. Replace sign (include an "answer legion" with the sign)

Mini Exhibits (Geology, Sun Dial, Tree Ring):

Geology: 

  1. Clean out the exhibit. [complete]
  2. Clear weeds from around exhibit (have a walking area all the way around it). 
  3. Add a sign with "answer legion".

Sun Dial: 

  1. Clean up the exhibit. 

  2. Stain the outside boards with outdoor deck stain. 
  3. Add sign (maybe with an explanation of how it works).

Tree Ring: 

  1. If a replacement tree ring can be found, replace it and repair the supports. 

  2. Add a sign (with an explanation of what it is).

If a replacement tree ring cannot be found, replace the exhibit with something else - a sign showing the wildlife that you might see in the Outdoor Classroom.
