- Preparation Required
- August or September Roundtable: A
Scouting For Food "Unit Information Packet" will be
handed out -- review it thoroughly.
- October Roundtable: A map of the
area that the unit will cover will be handed out (normally we'll
be given the same area as the previous year).
- The "area" is assigned to
both Pack 30 & Troop 30.
- Pack 30 takes Park Charles South
Subdivision & south, and Troop 30 takes the area north
(Hickory Ridge & Pegasus Farms Subdivisions).
- Prior to October Committee Meeting:
- The Pack 30 Area should be
divided into areas for each Den.
- Try to divide evenly based on
the number of Scouts in each Den.
- Refer to the following files for
the previous year's area assignments:
- Area_Assignments_By_Den.xls
- Park_Charles_Plat_Maps.ppt
(plat maps downloaded from the St. Charles County
website).
- At the October Committee
Meeting:
- Hand out maps to the Den
Leaders
- Make enough copies for each
Scout (family) in each Den.
- Den Leaders to distribute
maps within their Den.
- Den Leaders should
"manage" their own area; i.e. decide how they
want to cover their area.
- Agenda
- Bag Drop-Off Day:
- Bring the following to the
meeting place (Fairmount Parking Lot):
- Bags - divided into packets
for each Den (number of bags based on the number of houses
assigned to each den, with some extra).
- Extra copies of the maps (a
few for each den).
- Review Instructions & Safety
Rules.
- Can Pick-Up Day:
- Bring the following to the
meeting place (Fairmount Parking Lot):
- Extra Bags (give some to
each Den).
- Thank You Post-It's --
divide into packets for each Den (number of Post-It's
based on the number of houses assigned to each den, with
some extra).
- Doughnuts & Drinks, if
desired (maybe have someone volunteer to do this).
- Review Instructions & Safety
Rules
- Remind Den Leaders to make a
pass back through their area in early afternoon to see if any
additional bags have been set out -- if so, they need to
collect them and take them to the food pantry (and phone the
additional count to the coordinator).
