The regular meeting of the Committee Members was held on Tuesday October 27^th, 2009, at the Oxford Fire Hall (Board Room). The meeting was called to order at 7:15pm by Bill Day, Chairman.

CHAIRMAN — Bill Day reported:

• Spoke with Jeff Loeb/Cameron’s to secure the parking lot/facility for our Christmas Tree Sale.
• Discussed schedule / adult coverage — Matt D’Antonio to discuss at Court of Honor with both Scouts and parents.
• Point person for daily $$ deposits — Kelly Vining
• Netting — Jim George will look into purchasing more before the sale begins.
• Armstrong Cable Ad — Committee agreed to run the ad again this year from Sunday, November 22^nd thru Sunday, December 20^th. Becky George will handle placing this ad again.
• Ray Ramberger asked Jim George to bring up with the Committee an opportunity for the Girl Scouts to sell hot chocolate during the Christmas Tree Sale. Committee decided against this idea.
• # of Trees ordered by Ray Ramberger? (100 trees and 40-50 wreaths)
• % of Troop to Scout ratio of proceeds was also discussed. Committee could not agree on a ratio. Committee member suggestions ranged from 100% Scout to 100% Troop, and all in between. This would need to be revisited at the next Committee Meeting. The Committee did not agree that the Troop needs proceeds from this fundraiser in order to offset the costs of the expenditures over this past year. The Troop no longer has a fundraiser dedicated to raising funds for the Troop only.

SCOUTMASTER - Pops Griffin reported:

• Tuesday, November 3rd — PLC meeting at George’s home
• Thursday, November 5^th - Fall Court of Honor Ceremony
• Friday, November 13^th — Sunday November 15^th — Rifle Shoot weekend with Mr. Groseclose

Scout Leader training was discussed. 10 Scouts in current leadership roles were enrolled ($35.00/Scout) and 9 Scouts participated. The majority of the Scouts were not impressed with the material, the presentation of the material, etc. This training will be discussed by the Scouts that attended the session at next Scout Meeting.

OUTDOORS - Ray Ramberger absent/NO REPORT

ADVANCEMENT —Jim George reported:

1st Class Scout: was held on October 22nd

Star Scout: will be held on October 29th

3^rd Palm (Silver): Nathan Ramberger was held on October 15^th.

All Merit Badge Counselors were asked if they received and responded to the email from Council requesting to renew standing for 2010. All had responded and are enrolled again for 2010.

EQUIPMENT — Brian Urig absent/NO REPORT

FUNDRAISING — Ben Jackson reported:

Wreath’s Across America (for American Veteran’s)

Oxford Rotary Club (David Trailor) along with Cub Scout Pack #252 are promoting this event. Each wreath costs the customer $15.00 and the Scout would earn $5.00/sale. Ben Jackson proposed that each Scout will be asked to sell only two wreaths. A ceremony will take place at the Oxford Cemetery on December 12^th for wreaths to be placed on all the graves of the veterans buried in this cemetery. Next year, the Rotary hopes to organize a similar event at Arlington Cemetery. Some members of the Committee agreed that this is a wonderful opportunity for Troop #13 to participate in the Community and receive good "press" for such activity. The Committee as a group agreed to participate in this activity. Ben Jackson would be presenting this idea to the Scouts at the next Scout meeting.

TREASURER — Kelly Vining reported:

Current balance in Troop checking account is approximately $5300, however it is unknown what portion belongs to the Scouts.

PUBLIC RELATIONS — Jon Hoover reported:

Ben Jackson has many more Sea Base 2009 photos to be posted to the website, which Jon Hoover would handle.

SECRETARY — Becky George reported:

Invitations for Fall Court of Honor and Awards Ceremony were given to the Scouts at the last Scout meeting on October 22^nd.

On a motion by Bill Day, seconded by Committee, the meeting was adjourned @ 8:20p.m. By a unanimous vote.

Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 24^th, 2009 @ 7:00pm.
