COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR BSA TROOP #13 OF OXFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
The regular meeting of the Committee Members was held on Tuesday August 25th, 2009, at the Oxford Fire Hall (Board Room). The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by Pops Griffin, Scoutmaster.

SCOUTMASTER - Pops Griffin reported:
Upcoming Events include
Charles Hannum reported to Pops recently that the grass at the cabin needed to be cut more regularly. Grass cutting schedule for Scout Cabin: May, July and September Troop #13
June and August Troop #44
Adult leaders at summer camp spoke with the SPL about the Troop Communication and Organization, which have been ongoing concerns for the Troop. Suggestions by SPL included Weekly/Monthly outlines for meetings.
Leadership Training for scouts in leaderships roles currently and in the future was discussed AGAIN and it was agreed that this has been overlooked by the Troop and must be required of all Scouts in current leadership roles within the Troop.

Personal Management Merit Badge: Becky George has agreed to lead present this material December thru April to any interested scouts.
EQUIPMENT Brian Urig reported:
Scout (Green) Trailer: during Summer Camp, Brian Urig and Pops Griffin organized and installed shelving; painting, lettering and new tires were installed; registration was completed.
Purchased new dish wash bins and propane tanks (3)
Canoe Trailer: need to strip and prime the frame in preparation for spring painting (before canoe trip in April); storage box was discussed.
FUNDRAISING Ben Jackson absent/NO REPORT
Ray Ramberger and Matt DAntonio discussed Christmas Tree/Wreath Sale scheduled for every weekend beginning on Friday November 27th to conclude on Sunday December 20th. Committee decided to reserve 100 Christmas trees from Underwood Trees. Camerons Hardware (Loebs) would need to be contacted to request the use of their facility again.

PUBLIC RELATIONS Jon Hoover absent/NO REPORT
SECRETARY Becky George reported:
Thank you letters were sent to Mothers of Scouting Auxiliary and Oxford Rotary Club for recent donations.
Sorin Holland (District Executive Octoraro District of Chester County Council, BSA) contacted via email requesting if Committee would "consider allowing new Scouts who sold popcorn in the past to continue this sale? ". Committee decided against this request. (Update: Sorin Holland was emailed with decision).
Invitations for Fall Court of Honor and Awards Ceremony would be prepared and distributed early this month to scouts.
OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS
2009/2010 Rechartering: Many inactive Scouts and Adults were funded by the Troop for 2009 Rechartering. Committee discussed the need to only include active Scouts and Adults for 2010 Rechartering in order to eliminate this Troop expense in the future.
On a motion by Pops Griffin, seconded by Committee, the meeting was adjourned @ 8:15p.m. by a unanimous vote.
Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 @ 7:00pm.
