MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR BSA TROOP #13 OF OXFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
The regular meeting of the Committee Members was held on Tuesday January 26th, 2010, at the Oxford Fire Hall (Board Room). The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by Bill Day, Chairman.

Upcoming Events in December include:
Concessions: Concessions will be sold by Troop #13. Food has been purchased and parents have been asked to donate baked goods for sale.
OUTDOORS - Ray Ramberger reported:
Upcoming Activities for 2009-2010
January 29th 31st: Klondike Derby (no tour permit needed)
February: Ski Trip ( Ben Jackson)
March: Rock Climbing (Mark Vining)
March 20th: Spring Court of Honor and Awards Banquet
April: Canoe Trip ( Jim George)
April 30th May 2nd: French Creek Orienteering w/ Girl Scouts (Nathan Ramberger / Ray Ramberger)
May 21st 23rd: Camping with Troop #191 (Nathan Ramberger / Ray Ramberger)
May 31st: Oxford Memorial Day Parade
June: End of year picnic
July 11th 18th: BSA Summer Camp
ADVANCEMENT Jim George reported:
Monthly Board of Reviews are scheduled for the following Scouts (February 4th):
One First Class Scout Star Scout (if leadership requirements are satisfied at Klondike Derby)
One Scout Tenderfoot
One Tenderfoot 2nd Class
Prior to Banquet:
One First Class Scout Star Project completed?
7 Scouts Scout requirements + 2 Scouts Tenderfoot requirements
Ideas for Service Projects:
Newly registered adult Committee members include:
Committee discussed an incident with a Scout. It was suggested that the Scout be asked to attend the February Committee meeting at which time Scout will have an opportunity to explain the incident and the Committee will then decide on next action. Jim George will ask the Scout to come before the Board next month.
Points System was discussed, as was the infrequency of attendance taking, uniforms and leadership. SPL and ASPL (2) will change over in March and will be announced at the Banquet. Elections will be held by the Troop in March before the Banquet.
EQUIPMENT Brian Urig absent/NO REPORT

TREASURER Kelly Vining reported:
* December 2009 Minutes: It was agreed by both Bill Day (Chairman) and Pops Griffin (ScoutMaster) that this amount currently in savings be placed in a 6-month CD, as witnessed by Becky George (Secretary). Kelly Vining (Treasurer) will handle. Treasurer has not had a chance to handle, as of January 2010.
FUNDRAISING Ben Jackson reported:
Upcoming Klondike Derby: food sales will generate funds for the Troop
Discussion included various fundraisers for Spring/Summer 2010 including: Car show, selling pretzels/sodas at Wal-Mart, Spring Mulch Sale, Fall Chicken BBQ, Winter/December Christmas Tree Sales.
Ben will have a "Quarterly Fundraising Events Calendar" for planning and budgeting purposes. Once fundraisers are agreed upon and scheduled for the quarter/year, Ben will create a document to be distributed to all Scouts and parents.
PUBLIC RELATIONS Jon Hoover reported:

Jon Reported the local newspapers were extremely helpful in publicizing our Christmas Tree Sale. News releases were published in the following papers:
SECRETARY Becky George reported:
Annual Banquet will be held at the Oxford Senior Center on March 20th, 2010. Vi Carter will handle the food again this year. It was decided that we will serve turkey this year as a change of pace. Prices were discussed and committee decided that Troop would cover the expense for all Scouts again this year and last years prices would remain the same for guests: Adults = $12.00, 10 and under = $6.00. Becky George will prepare the invitations and distribute/ mail as appropriate.
Thank you letter will be sent to Camerons for Christmas Tree Sale venue and support.

On a motion by Bill Day, seconded by Committee, the meeting was adjourned @ 8:50.m. by a unanimous vote.
*** Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 @ 7:00pm.
