COMMITTEE MINUTES March 20, 2007
Meeting was called to order by Ed Hook. Others present were: Joanne Bagley, Jim and Becky George, Pops Griffin, Larry Groseclose, Jon Hoover, Ray and Tammy Ramberger, Mark and Kelly Vining. Missing was Treasurer Rick Micolucci
SCOUTMASTER - Pops reported:
Upcoming Events include:
- March 22 Fire Safety
- March 24 Troop 44 Banquet @ Presbyterian Church; scouts needed to serve.
- March 29 Cleaning out closet @ cabin; cleaning out trailer.
- March 31 - Pack 272 Banquet; Pops and a Scout to attend. Possibly 4 new
scouts from pack will be joining troop.
- April 21 Mulch sale
- May 19 Chix BBQ; Joanne will ask JB to print out tix.
Next PLC meeting April 2nd, 2007 @ the Grosecloses (7pm).
Q: Summer Camp Is Troop 13 paying for 2 adults? YES
OUTDOORS Ray reported:
Upcoming Trips include:
- March 25 Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser @ Oxford Strike and Spare Lanes (9am).
- March 25 (tentative date) MANDITORY Philmont meeting for Youth/Parent Orientation @ Willistown United Methodist Church (has since been confirmed for March 27th).
- March 31 Shotgun @ Oxford Gun Club (10am). (Daytrip) 10 Noon
Larry needs to purchase shotgun shells.
- April 27 29 OA Weekend
- May 4 6 MANDITORY Philmont Shakedown Weekend
- May 11-13 Clearing the OACR grounds. Frank Spohr to be contacted regarding various
possible Eagle Projects.
- June 15-16 Fishing trip, Rock Hall, MD w/ Gunsmoke Charters.
Jim George to handle insurance. Cost = $50/head, all day + $10/tip = $60/scout
- July 8-14 Summer Camp $25.00 deposit and paperwork due on March 31st. Important to secure "Kit Carson" camp site. Troop will be paying for 20 scouts in order to secure Kit Carson site.
- August 17 19 Raystown Lake
All drivers need to supply troop w/ drivers license #, Insurance Co. name/coverage amount, car make/model, year, etc.

Thank you note needs to be sent to Acme for donating 2 cases of water for Ski Trip.
ADVANCEMENT Jim reported Scouts were appointed to the following
leadership positions:
- New SP
- New Assistant SPL
- Troop Guide
- Chaplin Assistant
Q: Joanne asked for updated roster Jim to distribute as soon as he receives all applications, etc.
Updated disks to both Joanne Bagley and Larry Groseclose.
Discussion regarding "50 Miler" Patch
EQUIPMENT - Larry reported:
- Propane tank(s) are full.
Philmont:
Q: Backpacking stoves needed? Need 2 reliable stoves, ship them out, purchase fuel there.
Q: Tablets for water purification needed?
TREASURER Kelly reported:
- Rick has been training Kelly to take over Treasurer duties for troop.
- Looking into Quickbooks.
PUBLIC RELATIONS - Jon reported:
- Forms have now been added to website.
- Continues to post new photos from past scouting events on the website.
SECRETARY - Becky reported:
- To coordinate Chix BBQ sales money and tix
OLD BUSINESS
- Money from banquet to go towards costs for Summer Camp 07.
- Donation to the Grange? $100.00 amount was discussed/agreed upon.
- Eric Todd suggested his account $$ be donated to a Scout who needs financial "help" to attend Summer Camp 07.
- Christmas Tree Sale proceeds from Camerons Q: How much money was raised? Joanne to email JB for information.
- Ray mentioned that drivers should not be required to pay transportation fee discussed/agreed upon.
NEW BUSINESS

April 21st Mulch Sale; Ray placed ad in Community Courier.
- June 9th Grange Chix BBQ; Approximately 4-6 scouts needed to help from 9 11 packing lunches.
- Active Status discussed; 2 Eagle Scout candidates are currently "inactive", as per Troop guidelines.
- Training: Fast Start Training, Assistant Scoutmaster Training Joanne Bagley nominated to become "Training Coordinator". Childline Clearance also discussed.
- Larry Groseclose has become NRA Rifle Instructor certified.
Next meeting will be held on April 24th, 2007 @ 7:00.
