MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR BSA TROOP #13 OF OXFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
The regular meeting of the Committee Members was held on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at the Boy Scout Cabin. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Bill Day, Chairman.

SCOUTMASTER - Pops reported:
Upcoming Events for October and beyond include:
- Thursday, October 25th Oxford Halloween Parade; to meet
in front of church @ 5:30 in full uniform.
- Tuesday, October 30th Next PLC meeting @ the Hoovers
home @ 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, November 17th - Fall Chix BBQ Fundraiser for Troop
@ the Russellville Grange
OUTDOORS Ray reported:
- Friday, October 19th thru Sunday October 21st
- Bike Trip to Lehigh Valley was a very nice trip.
- Friday, November 9th thru Sunday, November 11th -
Rifle Weekend @ Camp Horseshoe. Tour permit has been filed and permission
slips were distributed to the Scouts last week @ meeting; due back this week.
- Saturday December 22nd - Cabellas Trip; tour permit needs
to be completed and submitted and permission slips should be prepared for
distribution.
- Klondike Derby (January)
- Ski Trip (February) -
Scouts need additional training in order to successfully plan the upcoming
trips. Tammy Ramberger requested to be added to meeting agenda in December to
go over the proper procedure for planning of upcoming trips.
ADVANCEMENT Jim reported:
- One scout completed and will be awarded Family Life badge. Another
scout completed and will be awarded World Conservation badge.
- One Scout is working on Family Life badge; needs blue card completed
and will submit.
- one Scout still needs to complete the Orienteering Requirement for
First Class rank advancement. Discussion of holding a special meeting for
the "younger" scouts to complete this requirement as a group.
Upcoming Board of Reviews:
- One First Class Scout Advancement to Star Rank
- One Tenderfoot Advancement to Second Class Rank
EQUIPMENT - Larry reported:
- Old Trailer: has been repaired; new brake control donated and installed
by Bill McComsey.
- New Trailer: axels, bearing checked; needs to be painted. Work day for Scouts,
remove decals, scrap and repaint. Mr. Higgins has volunteered to oversee project.
- Canoe Trailer: still discussing.
- Canoes: new tags required, old tags expire at the end of 2007.
- New Equipment: need to purchase an additional Dining Fly (12X20)
(to price) and tent stakes (to purchase at Walmart).
- Propane: purchased
TREASURER Kelly reported:
PUBLIC RELATIONS - Jon reported:
- Jon submitted several pictures of the Scouts on the bridge they built at
the OARA to the local newspaper; has not been published as of yet.
SECRETARY - Becky reported:
- Fall Chix BBQ; necessary items discussed and duties assigned.
OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS
On a motion by Bill Day, seconded by Committee, the meeting was adjourned @
8:35 p.m. by a unanimous vote.
Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 @ 7:00.
